The proprietor of A.R.Baker Opticians, I’m the third generation of the Baker family following my father Philip Baker, and his father, Alfred Robert Baker whose name we still bear to this day. We pride ourselves in great service and care, with great value for money. I’m here to see that’s what you get.

Hi I’m Paula and I’ve been at A.R.Baker’s with Richard as an optical receptionist for over forty years, That may sound, and indeed is, a long time but I still love my work and the people we see. If you like personal service it’s us you want to visit.

Hello I’m Jon, I’ve been an Ophthalmic Optician or Optometrist at Baker’s for ten years. We’re constantly busy so the work is demanding. I enjoy to be busy and find the challenge rewarding. it’s gratifying that so many people entrust their eyes to our care. I am also a very experienced contact lens consultant.
Emma Poole
RECEPTIONIST
Hi I’m Emma. I’m the senior full time optical receptionist. After ten years I’m the person Richard entrusts to look after much of the administration, and there’s a lot of that. After so many years there’s not much I don’t know about our work, and I enjoy it immensely. Also I may look sweet, but I’m the one who keeps them all in order (laugh).
Brian Twiddy

Hi I’m Brian, Richard’s dispensing colleague and right hand man. I’ve been with A.R.Baker’s for seven years now and have been professionally qualified for over thirty years as a dispensing optician, and also as an ophthalmic technician, so I also look after all the technical side of the production of spectacles. Richard puts upon me a lot, but hey, do I mind? No because it’s a great company to work with.

Hello I’m Colin, I am proud to have worked with Richard and his team for a period that spans some forty years. at first as a contact lens consultant and now for some twenty years as a regular optometrist. Richard and I have been professional colleagues, and we have enjoyed recreation together with some twenty years of golfing rivalry!
